I said it once, I’ll say it again…

Remember that post I made a while back about shampoo? Well it was sort of ‘embedded’ in a hair color post so it’s okay if you missed it.  I wanted to make another post specifically about shampoo. The reason is because so many people are balding prematurely because of the effect of chemicals inside most of the shampoo available on the shelves. These chemicals are: Propylene Glycol (antifreeze) Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), Sodium beryl sulfate, or Sodium Laureth Sulphate (same ingredient that is in engine degreaser). They are formulated for cleaning away oils – that they do,but the consequences can be painful and destructive to the scalp and hair follicles. They literally cause the follicle to sizzle and curl up, giving you the appearance of massive hair shedding or thinning. It also retards the amount of time that it takes to grow that hair back.

Honestly, I have not been using SLS in my shampoo (sound like a drug, doesn’t it..) and I’m actually getting a lot more hair growing. Especially around my hairline… it looks funny right now. I used to have large handfuls of hair shed when I would shower, but now I maybe have one or two individual strands. It really is amazing. Sucks for me because I have a freakin lions mane as it is, but I was also getting some sores on my scalp, causing dandruff, that I believe was because of SLS as well… because after not using it for one month, this problem is gone. I just have a couple scabs that are healing. It’s really crazy. I’ve been using a brand that’s called Organix, and it can be bought anywhere, more specifically at target. Costs around $5. There’s other shampoo’s that are higher end that doesn’t have it (like some aveda crap) but it’s too expensive for me. I used herbal essences because they were cheap… until discovering that they were the cause to my hair issues. Anyway, I’m not marketing or selling crap, I just wanted to give more people awareness of this issue. I am amazed at how this toxic ingredient has polluted our hair products… it makes me mad that there’s just no way for the public to know unless it’s word of mouth.
